Cline
Cline is an open-source coding agent extension for VS Code that reads and writes files and runs commands. You can connect it to FlyRouter as "OpenAI Compatible" or as "Anthropic".
Option 1: OpenAI Compatible (recommended)
This option can use any FlyRouter text model.
Open Cline settings
Open Cline in the VS Code sidebar and click the settings icon in the top right.
Choose the provider
Set API Provider to OpenAI Compatible and fill in:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Base URL | https://api.flyrouter.ai/v1 |
| API Key | Your FlyRouter key (sk-...) |
| Model ID | For example claude-sonnet-5-5 or gpt-6.1-sol |
Set model parameters if needed
Expand Model Configuration to set the context window, max output tokens, image support and so on, matching the model you chose. Save, then send a message to test.
Option 2: Anthropic
If you only use Claude, you can choose the Anthropic provider instead:
- Set API Provider to Anthropic.
- Enter your FlyRouter key in Anthropic API Key.
- Tick Use custom base URL and enter
https://api.flyrouter.ai(without/v1). - Pick a model from the Model dropdown.
The Anthropic provider's model dropdown is a fixed list built into Cline. If a newer model isn't there, use option 1 and type the model ID.
Troubleshooting
- 404: the OpenAI Compatible base URL needs
/v1; the Anthropic custom address doesn't. - Context too long errors: set Context Window in Model Configuration to what the model actually supports.
