Integrations
Cursor
Cursor lets you call chat models with your own API key. Change the OpenAI base URL to FlyRouter and you can use FlyRouter models in Cursor's chat.
Setup
Open the model settings
Open Cursor Settings, go to Models and find the API Keys section.
Enter the key and address
- Paste your FlyRouter key (
sk-...) into OpenAI API Key. - Turn on Override OpenAI Base URL and enter
https://api.flyrouter.ai/v1. - Click Verify.
Add a model
Click + Add Custom Model in the model list, enter a model ID such as gpt-6.1-sol, then select it in the chat panel's model picker.
Limitations
These are limits of Cursor's bring-your-own-key feature, not of FlyRouter:
- It applies to chat models only. Tab completion and similar features always use Cursor's own models.
- Requests go through Cursor's servers before reaching FlyRouter.
- Changing the base URL affects every model that uses the OpenAI key.
- Cursor routes models whose names start with
claude-to the Anthropic key, so Claude models added this way may not work. Use GPT models in Cursor. For a Claude coding agent, use Claude Code or Cline. - Some Agent-mode features may not work; it depends on Cursor's behavior.
Troubleshooting
- Verify fails: make sure the base URL includes
/v1and the key isn't limited to other models. - No API Keys section on a team plan: your team admin may have disabled personal keys. Ask them.
